அரள்

araḷ-   2 v.intr. [K. āraḷ.]cf. அருள்³-. To be terrified; பீதியடைதல். அரண்டவன் கண்ணுக்கு இருண்டதெல்லாம் பேய்  

araḷ   அரளு, I. v. i. grow terrified, become alarmed, be amazed, பிரமி.

"அரண்டவன் கண்ணுக்கு இருண்டதெல் லாம் பேய்" Proverb, "As the fool thinks, so the bell clinks"; to a coward every dark think is a devil.
