இராகு

irāku   * n. rāhu. Rāhu, the ascending node of the moon regarded as one of thenine planets, and believed to have the form of amonstrous serpent or dragon which, with Kētu,the descending node, is supposed to seizethe sun and the moon and thus cause theeclipses, Caput draconis; நவக்கிரகங்களுளொன்று.

irāku   ராகு, s. the eighth planet in the Indian astronomy, caput draconis, which with கேது the red serpent is said to swallow the sun and the moon and thus to cause eclipses. இராகுகாலம், the inauspicious part of the day about an hour and a half under the influence of இராகு.
