ஒற்றளபெடை

oṟṟaḷapeṭai   n. id. +.(Gram.) Lengthening the mutes ங், ஞ், ண், ந்,ம், ன், வ், ய், ல், ள், ஃ after one or two shortsyllables for the sake of metre, as in கண்ண்,இலங்ங்கு, the said consonant being doubled inwriting, to indicate the prolongation, one often cārpeḻuttu, q.v.; குறித்த மெல்லின இடையினமெய்யெழுத்துக்கள் தமக்குறிய மாத்திரையின் மிக்கொலிக்கை (நன். 92.)
