Edge, keenness of a knife, கத்தியின்கூர். 5. Engraved, carved, or embossed work, bass-relief, இரெகித்தசித்தி ரம். 6. The exterior rind of palmyra fruit which dries and, if pressed, peels off in flakes, பனங்காய்த்தோற்கருக்கு. 7. Jag, indenta tion, pectination of leaves, &c., இலைகளின்கரு க்கு. 8. A decoction of several kinds of drugs made by pouring water on them while heating in a vessel over the fire, கஷாயம்.

கருக்கரிவாள், s. A sickle.

கருக்கழிய--கருக்குமழுங்க, inf. [vul.] To be blunted--as an edge, கூர் மழுங்க. கருக்கழிந்திருக்கிறது. The coin has lost its stamp, it is defaced.

கருக்காக்க, inf. To make sharp.

கருக்கானபணம், s. Newly coined money.

கருக்கானவன், s. [com.] A sharp witted man, கூர்மையாயிருப்பவன். 2. A man of guile, வஞ்சகன்.

கருக்கானவாள், s. A sharp sword.

கருக்கிட, inf. To whet, edge, sharpen.

கருக்குக்கஷாயம், s. A decoction, &c.

கருக்குச்சுருட்டு, s. Guilefulness, crookedness of mind, வஞ்சகம்.

கருக்குவராகன், s. A new pagoda or coin on which the figures are well defined.

கருக்குவாய்ப்பட, inf. To be rough edged.

கருக்குவாளி--கருக்காமரம், s. The name of a tree, கருக்குவரய்ச்சி, with a dark jagged leaf, serrated, ஓர்மரம், Zizyphus trinervius. (Rott.)

கருக்குவாள், s. A sword with a sharp edge, கருக்கானவாள்.

கருக்குவேலை, s. Work in stone or metal, bass-relief, raised-work, fret-work.

கருக்குள்ளது, appel. n. That which is sharp-edged.

கருக்கெடுபட, inf. To have the edge of an instrument removed by use.

கிறேன், கருக்கினேன் வே ன், கருக்க v. a. To burn, to tinder, கருகச் செய்ய. 2. To scorch, toast, fry, parch, to imbrown or darken by heat, to tan கறுப் போடவாட்ட, 3. To scorch corn; to tan the countenance, referring to the action of the sun, &c., தீக்க. 4. [vul.] To harass by rebukes, திட்ட. சாராயமீரலைக்கருக்கிப்போடும். Ardent spirits consume the liver. ஆளைக்கருக்கிப்போட்டார்கள். They have great ly harassed the person by reproofs.

பத்தியத்துக்குகருக்கிக்கொடுக்க, inf. To fry or cook (food) and give it to a patient-as a proper diet.

மனதைக்கருக்க, inf. To wound the feelings, to offend.

கருக்கல், v. noun. The act of blackening. 2. [used as a substantive.] The evening twilight, dusk, அந்திநேரம். 3. [prov.] Rice in the field turned browm by the sun, காய்ந்தபயிர். 4. Darkness, ob scurity, இருள். 5. Thin and imperfect grains in corn ears,பதர். கருக்கலிலேவந்தான். Rice somewhat injured.

அமாவாசைக்கருக்கல், s. Great darkness as in a night of the new moon.
