சருகு

s. Dry leaves, rubbish, &c., உல ர்ந்தவிலை.

சருகரிக்க, inf. To separate rubbish from dried leaves with the hands. சருகரிக்கநேரமின்றிக்குளிர்காயநேரமில்லை. There is time for gathering dry leaves for fuel, but none for warming one's self (they burn so soon); i. e. One cannot enjoy the fruit of his labor, the time of life is so short.

சருகட்டை, s. A kind of leech found on trees, மரவட்டை.

சருகாமை, s. The black land-turtle.

சருகுணி--சருகுண்ணி, s. A wood tick. See உண்ணி.

சருகுசன்னாயம், s. [prov.] A light coat of armor, இருப்புச்சுவடு. (B.)

சரகுசாதனங்கள், s. [loc.] Vouchers written on palm leaves. (R.)

சருகுதிர, inf. To fall off, as leaves or peal and slough off as skin and flesh.

சருகுதிரி, s. A species of small-pox. See உதிரி.

சருகுபித்தளை, s. Fine malleable brass --especially when beaten into plates.

சருகுபுலி, s. [prov.] A small kind of panther. (Little used.)

சருகுமடப்பளி, s. [prov.] One of the divisions of மடப்பளி caste.

சருகுமுயல், s. [prov.] A small kind of hare, or a cat so called.

சருகொட்டி--சருவொட்டி, s. [loc.] A kind of bird, ஓர்பறவை.

காய்ந்துசருகாய்ப்போக, inf. To become dry and withered, as leaves, &c. 2. To be emaciated in person, மெலிய. 3. To heal up, as a sore, புண்காய.
