தபம்

s. Austerity, penance, self-mor tifications, bodily tortures, தவம். 2. The month of February, மாசிமாதம். (சது.)

தபாக்கினி, s. Fires kindled for self mortification. 2. (fig.) The heat or fervor of devotion, religious austerities, &c.

தபோதனர், s. (plu.) Hermits, sages, as தவந்தர்.

தபோநிதி, s. One rich in religious merit gained by austerity; (used in panegyric.)

தபோபலம், s. Fruits of religious aus terities.

தபோபுண்ணியம், s. High religious merit acquired by austerities.

தபோபுத்திரன், s. A son obtained by austerities.

தபோமகிமை, s. The high dignity, and glory of austerities.

தபோமயம், s. Wholly of an ascetic nature of character. 2. A name of a forest rendered sacred by the perfor mance of austerities.

தபோவனம், s. A sacred forest, fre quented by ascetics.

தபோலோகம், s. One of the seven upper worlds, மேலேழுலோகத்தொன்று.
