நட்டம்

s. Erectness, uprightness, per pendicularity, as of a post, நிறுதிட்டம். (c.) 2. [prov.] Nakedness; i. e. with only the foreflap, அம்மணம். 3. (p.) Dance, dancing, நடனம். 4. Poetical form for நட்டோம்.

நட்டமேநிறுத்த, inf. To set up per pendicularly. 2. (fig.) To establish a person in life.

நட்டமேநிற்க, inf. To stand erect as a post, heedless of danger, unsuscepti ble of heat, cold, &c. 2. [prov.] To stand naked, without a sense of decency.

நட்டமேவர, inf. To come naked.

--நஷ்டம், s. Loss, detriment, damage, injury, disadvantage, prejudice, சேதம். 2. Ruin, destruction, கேடு. W. p. 457. NASHT'A. (c.)

நஷ்டங்காண, inf. To experience loss in trade, &c.

நஷ்டப்படுத்த, inf. To cause damage, to involve in loss.

நஷ்டமிறுக்க, inf. [prov.] To pay the loss, make good, indemnify.

நஷ்டம்பொறுக்க, inf. To bear loss.

நட்டமுட்டிசிந்தனை, s. The three species of things, on which divination is exer cised, also the kinds of divination, and a work treating on the art. The three thing are, 1. நட்டம், loss. 2. முட்டி, the closed hand in reference to what is held at the time. 3. சிந்தனை, thought of the person, applied to the diviner.

நட்டவாளன்--நட்டவாளி, s. [prov.] One who sustains loss, a loser.
