பகு

பகுவசனம், s. [in gram.] Plural num ber.

கிறது, [p. பக்கது.] ந்தது, ம், பக, v. n. To part, divide, separate into branches, to ramify, as a tree or a family, கிளைக்க. (குறள்.) 2. To be at variance, to be dis united, பிரிய--as இழைபகஅம்பெய்தான், he shot as arrow so as to split a thread. (Beschi.)

பகாப்பதம், s. [neg. பகா.] A primi tive, indivisible word, as வில், a bow.

பகாப்பொருள், s. [neg. பகா.] An epithet of God, the indivisible.

பகுபதம், s. A compound word of one which may be divided--oppos. to பகாப் பதம்.--Note. It is of two kinds, பெயர்ப் பகுபதம், a compound noun as பொன்னன், and வினைப்பகுதம், a compound verb, as நடந்தான்.

பகுபதவறுப்பு, s. The six constituent parts of a word; பகுதி, விகுதி, இடைநிலை, சாரியை, சந்தி, விகாரம், which see.

பகுவாய், s. A large mouth, an open mouth, அகன்றவாய். 2. A large mouthed vessel, தாழி. (சது.) பகுவாய்க்கொள்கலம். A vessel with a large mouth. பகுவாய்ப்பறை. A large drum.

க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To divide, distribute, apportion, allot, destine, பிரிக்க. 2. To give, ஈய. 3. To cut off, தறிக்க. 4. To cut in two, துண்டிக்க. இன்னபடியென்றுபகுத்துப்போட்டான். He ex plained it distinctly.

பகுத்தறிய--பகுத்துணர, inf. To dis tinguish, discriminate. பகுத்தறியுமறிவுடையஆத்துமா. The rational soul.

பகுத்தறிவு, v. noun. [substantively.> Reason, rationality, discriminating knowledge as possessed by men.

பகுத்தறிவுள்ளவன், appel. n. [neg. பகுத் தறிவிலான், பகுத்தறிவிலி, masc. and fem. A judicious person.

பகுந்துப்பார்க்க, inf. To survey every part.
