பிராணம்

--பிராணன், s. The chief of the ten vital airs; that which causes action in the heart, also in the lungs in breathing, தசவாயுவினொன்று. 2. Life, vita lity, சீவன். (c.) 3. Air inhaled, சுவாசம். 4. Strength,வலிமை. W. p. 586. PR'AN'A. 5. [in astron.] A correction from the equation of the Sun's centre.

பிராணஅவஸ்தை--பிராணாவஸ்தை, s. Pains of death, agony.

பிராணகண்டிதம், s. Risk of life.

பிராணசகி, s. An intimate female companion.

பிராணசங்கடம், s. A risk, a difficult undertaking in which life is exposed.

பிராணசினேகிதன்--பிராணமித்திரன், s. A friend, dear as life.

பிராணசேதம்--பிராணச்சேதம், s. Loss of life.

பிராணதாரகம், s. Food to those near death, or just recovering from danger ous sickness, சீவதாரகம்.

பிராணதாரணம், s. Livelihood, means of support, சீவனத்திற்குரியன.

பிராணதுக்கம், s. Great grief, கடுஞ்சஞ் சலம். (Old Dic.)

பிராணத்தறுவாய், s. The critical mo ment, the moment of death, இறக்குந்தரு ணம்.

பிராணத்தியாகம், s. Voluntary aban donment, or sacrifice of life, உயிர்விடுகை; [ex. தியாகம், forsaking.]

பிராணநாசம், s. Destruction of life.

பிராணநாதன்--பிராணநாயகன், s. [fem. பிராணநாயகி.] A dearly beloved husband, கணவன். 2. God, Lord, கடவுள்.

பிராணப்பிரதிஷ்டை, s. The supposed inspiring of an image with the god re presented, விக்கிரகத்துக்குயிர்கொடுக்கை.

பிராணமயம், s. Living, the state in which vital power is active.

பிராணமயகோசம், s. One of the sheaths of the soul, the vital or orga nic case. See கோசம்.

பிராணமித்துரு, s. As பிராணசினேகிதன்.

பிராணலயம்-பிராணவியோகம், s. Ex tinction of life, உயிரழிவு. 2. Peril of life; [ex இலயம்.]

பிராணலிங்கம், s. The symbol worn by the இலிங்கபிராணி sect. See பிராணி. (R.)

பிராணவீனன், s. A lifeless man, as அப் பிராணி.

பிராணவேதனை, s. Fatal disease; pains of death.

பிராணன்போகுதல், v. noun. Depart ing from life. 2. [fig.] Suffering greatly by hunger or thirst.

பிராணாதிநாதன், s. God, கடவுள்.

பிராணாதிவாயுக்கள்,s. The பிராணன், and other vital airs.

பிராணாந்தம், s. The end of life, உயிர் முடிவு; [ex அந்தம்.]

பிராணாபாயம், s. Peril of life.

பிராணாபானவாயுக்கள், s. Two vital airs brought under control by yogi practices; 1. பிராணன், the breath of the nostrils; 2. அபானன், the wind passing downwards.

பிராணேசன், s. The husband, கொழு நன்; [ex ஈசன், lord.]
