புகட்டு

pukaṭṭu-   5 v. tr. Caus. ofபுகடு-. 1. To insert, introduce; உட்புகுத்துதல்.(யாழ். அக.) 2. To infuse, instil; to feed; to pourdown the throat, as milk; ஊட்டுதல். அல்லமதேவன் சரிதத் தீம்பால் . . . புகட்டினானால் (பிரபுலிங்.துதி. 11). 3. To impress on the mind, teach,instruct; அறிவுறுத்துதல். செவிதிறந்து புகட்ட(திருவிளை. விடையிலச். 4).

pukaṭṭu   III. v. t. (vulg. போட்டு) pour into the mouth of an animal or child, ஊட்டு; 2. impress on the mind, மனதில் பதி; 3. instil good or bad principles.

பால் புகட்ட, to pour milk into a child's mouth, to feed a child with milk.
