புனை

கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. a. To dress, to put on clothes, flowers, or jewels, தரிக்க. 2. To ornament, adorn, decor ate, அலங்கரிக்க. 3. To use ornamental language, to embellish with similes or comparisons, அலங்கரித்துரைக்க. (p.)

புனைகுழல்--புனைகோதை, s. A lady as adorned with locks, பெண்.

புனைசுருட்டு, s. Artifice, underhand contrivance, plot, complotment, சூது. (c.)

புனைசுருட்டுப்பண்ண, inf. To complot.

புனைந்துரை, s. [also. அணிந்துரை.] Pre face, introduction, பாயிரம். (Compare தந்து ரை.) 2. Ornamental language, rhetorical or poetic embellishment, magnifying or depreciating, அலங்கரித்துரைப்பது.

புனையிழை, s. A lady as having beauti ful ornaments, பெண்.

புனைவர், appel. n. [pl.] Mechanics, artizans, கம்மாளர். (சது.)

புனைவிலி, s. A simile, a comparison, உபமானப்பொருள்.

புனைவிலிநவிற்சியணி, s. A rhetorical figure, or form of language, ஓர்அணி.

புனைவுளி, s. A subject which is rheto rically treated, வருணிக்கப்படுபொருள்.

புனைவுளிவிளைவணி, s. A rhetorical figure. ஓரணி.

புனைதல், v. noun. Dressing, orna menting. &c., as the verb. புனைதல்செய்தான். He wrote the work in ornamental language. (நைடதம்.)
