மதுரை

maturai   n. madhurā. 1.Madura, the capital of the Pāṇḍya kingdom;பாண்டியர் தலைநகரம். மாட மதுரையுந் தருகுவன்(புறநா. 32). 2. Muttra in Agra, sacred as thebirthplace of Kṛṣṇa, one of catta-puri, q.v.;சத்தபுரிகளுள் ஒன்றானதும் கண்ணனவதரித்ததுமானவடமதுரை. மன்னு மதுரை தொடக்கமாக (திவ்.நாய்ச். 12, 10).
