மயம்

mayam   n. Maya. A treatiseon architecture, one of 32 ciṟpa-nūl, q.v.;சிற்பநூல் முப்பத்திரண்டனுள் ஒன்று. (இருசமய.உலகவழக். சிற்பசாத். 2.)

mayam   n. 1. Camel; ஒட்டகம்.(யாழ். அக.) 2. Nature, quality, property;தன்மை. பெண்மயமோ பெரிதே (சீவக. 228). 3.Prevalence; fullness; நிறைவு. எங்குந் தழன்மயமாய் (விநாயகபு. 74, 128). 4. Substance; பொருள்.அவனிடத்தில் ஒரு மயமுமில்லை.

mayam   n. mayas. 1. Pleasure,satisfaction; மகிழ்ச்சி. மயமுறு மனங்கொடு (இரகு.கடிமண. 36). 2. Beauty; அழகு. (பிங்.) மயமிக்கமரகதத்தால் (சூடா. 9, 1). 3. Arrogance; செருக்கு.மூடந்தரித்தெண் மயத்து நின்றார் (திருநூற். 62).

mayam   n. gō-maya. Cow-dung;கோமயம். மயமாதி யாட்டிடுக (சிவதரு. பரிகார. 76).

mayam   n. perh. maya. Property,wealth; சொத்து. மயக்காரன், மயக்காரி. Loc.

mayam   s. affix expressing nature, quality, possession, manner or likeness as in தேசோமயம், splendour, விஷ்ணு மயம், belonging to Vishnu etc., 2. a camel, ஒட்டை; 3. one of the 32 Shastras which teach architecture; 4. beauty, in reference only to the works of மயன், a Daitya.

தேசம் அவன் மயமாயிருக்கிறது, the country lies under his control.

அன்னமயம் பிராணமயம், life is sustained by food.

பொன்மயம், anything golden.
