மார்

s. Breast, properly மார்பு. (c.) 2. A plural termination of nouns--as தகப்பன் மார், fathers; and poetically of verbs--as உண்மார், பலர்பால்விகுதி.

மாரடிக்க, inf. To beat the breast, as females in bewailing the dead. 2. [fig.] To be troubled by one. See இழவுக்க டிக்க.

மாரடைப்பு, v. noun. Obstruction of the breast, as in asthma.

மாரிழவு, s. Bewailing the dead by beating one's breast. See மயிரிழவு.

மாரெலும்பு, s. Breast bone, as மார் பெலும்பு.

மார்க்கண்டம், s. The breast of man or beast. மார்க்கண்டம்வேகவில்லை. The breast bone was not consumed [when the corpse was burned]--said of one who had a strong attachment to his wife and children.

மார்த்தோல், s. A toddy-drawer's breast-leathers.
