The first progeny of Brahma, who, having divided himself into male and female, produced Viraj from the female; Viraj by himself produced the first Menu, or Swayamb'huva, who was the progenitor of the Prajapatis, and the se condary framer of the visible world. Ac cording to some, Viraj is the same as Para-Brahma. the primary cause. See W. p. 781. VIRAJ. Others consider him to be the same as Parama-purusha, or Vishnu; who, after being formed, offered up himself in sacrifice. See Kennedy's An. 2. The king of birds, the large kite, Falco Pondich, புள்ளரசு. 3. All beings animate and inanimate, amounting to 84,, considered to be contained in the mystic form of Vishnu especially at the time of the பிரளயம்.
