இடைநிலை

iṭai-nilai   n. id. + நில்-. 1.State of being in the middle; மத்தியத்தில் நிற்கை. இடைநிலைத்தீவகம் 2. (Gram.) Medial particles coming between the root and the endingin a word (i) in verbs, to indicate tense, as த் inசெய்தான்; (ii) in personal nouns as an insertedeuphonic connective particle, as ஞ் in அறிஞன் பெயர்வினைகளின் பகுதிவிகுதிகளுக்கு இடையில் நிற்கும் ஓர் உறுப்பு (நன். 141.)
