To rest or devolve on--as a duty, or obligation, கட்டளைசார.--Note. Most of the compounds take சுமர in colloquial use, notwithstand ing its impropriety. மேகஞ்சுமந்துநிற்கிறது. The clouds teem with rain.

பாரஞ்சுமக்க, inf. To rest or lie heavily, press upon. 2. To press heavily, as a duty.

பாவஞ்சுமக்க, inf. To contract and bear sin.

வட்டிசுமக்க, inf. To accumulate in terest.

பழிசுமக்க, inf. To devolve on one--as the evil effects of ill doing.

கடன்சுமக்க, inf. To increase debts. 2. To rest on one--as a duty or obli gation.

சுமந்துபோக, inf. To be over burden ed. 2. To be deeply involved to debt, ot guilt.

குற்றஞ்சுமவாதவன், appel. n. An in nocent person.

க்கிறேன், ந்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To bear, carry, support--as a load on the head, or shoulder; to carry a burden--as a beast. பரிக்க. 2. To endure, suffer, sustain, சகிக்க. 3. To bear in the womb, கருப்பத் திற்சுமக்க.

சுமந்திறக்க, inf. To discharge heavy duties. (p.)

சுமந்துபெற்றாள், appel. n. A mother, (lit.) she who brought forth.

சுமந்துகொள்ள, inf. To sustain.

சுமந்துபோக, inf. To carry away.

சுமவாச்சுமை, s. A burdon too heavy to be borne. 2. (fig.) An undertaking above one's capacity. 3. Great pains, very laborious services, மிகுபிரயாசை.

பாரஞ்சுமக்க, inf. To bear a weight. 2. To bear the burden of a large family, of government, &c.

பழிசுமக்க, inf. To suffer for ill-doing, to bear reproach.

சுமப்பு, v. noun. Bearing, carrying. சுமந்தவன்கூலிபெறுவான். He who carries will be paid. அவனையெடுத்துச்சுமந்துதிரி. Take and carry him; i. e., you are now under him.
