தீபாவளி

tīpāvaḷi   n. dīpāvali. Afestive celebration on the night of the 14th dayof the dark fortnight at moon-rise in themonth of Aippaci, believed to be ordained byKṛṣṇa at the request of Narakācuraṉ கண்ணபிரானாற் கொல்லப்பட்ட நரகாசுரன் வேண்டுகோளின்படி ஐப்பசியிற் கிருஷ்ணபட்சத்தில் சதுர்த்தசியுள்ளவைகறையிற் மங்களஸ்நானஞ்செய்து கொண்டாடப்படும் பெரும்பண்டிகை.
