--நிலா, s. Luminousness, light, splendor, ஒளி. 2. Moon-shine, சந்திரிகை. 3. Moon, சந்திரன். (c.) நிலவுக்கொளித்துப்பரதேசம்போகலாமோ. Can one travel so as to hide himself from the moon? Can sinners escape the eye of God? நிலாப்பதிவிலேபோய்விட்டது. The moon is getting low.

நிலவுகாய்தல்--நிலவெறித்தல்--நிலா வெறித்தல், v. noun. Shining of the moon. 2. Being affected with amorous desires by the Moon's rays.

நிலவுகாலம்--நிலவுக்காலம். s. Time of moon-shine. moon-light-nights.

நிலவுகாலித்தல்--நிலவுகாலுதல், v. noun. Shining of the moon.

நிலவுதயம், s. The rising of the moon.

நிலவுநாழிகை, s. Time as measured by the persons shadow.

நிலவுபடுதல், v. noun. Setting of the moon.

நிலாமண்டபம்--நிலாமுற்றம், s. A piazza, terrace, &c., for enjoying the moon-light, நிலாவெறிக்குமுற்றம்.

நிலாமண்டலம், s. The orb and region of the moon, சந்திரமண்டலம்.

நிலாமுகி-நிலாமுகிப்புள், s. The bar tavelle, or Greek partridge as feeding on moon-beams, Perdix rufa, சகோரம்.

நிலாவிலேநடக்க, inf. To walk by moon-light.

nilvu   --நிலாவு, கிறது, நிலவினது, நிலா வினது, ம், நிலவ, நிலாவ, v. n. To emit rays, to shine, பிரகாசிக்க. 2. To exist, be in use, in vogue, in circulation--as a word; to be practised--as a religion; to be extant, be in force, வழங்க. 3. To spread, extend, pervade, பாவ. (p.) நிலவக்கோட்டினாள். She made a splendid drawing. நிலாவுமரபினையுடையது. It has the credit of usage. (p.) உண்ணிலாவியதுயரம். Grief which over whelms the heart.
