பட்டினி

s. [vul. பட்டிணி.] Destitution of food, hunger, sometimes from fasting or abstinence, through urgency, or medical prescription, உண்ணாதிருத்தல். (c.)

பட்டினிகாத்தல், v. noun. Going with out food at a funeral house.

பட்டினிகிடக்க, inf. To starve, com monly from necessity; spoken in com tempt.

பட்டினிபொறுத்தல், v. noun. [prov.] Suffering hunger.

பட்டினிபோடுதல், v. noun. Making one go without food; starving a patient as a means of cure.

பட்டினிப்பண்டம், s. [prov.] Coarse food, as taken at funerals, in token of mourning.

பட்டினியாயிருத்தல், v. noun. Starv ing, famishing.
