பரதன்

parataṉ   n. Bharata. 1. A sovereign, son of Duṣyanta and Šakuntalā, afterwhom India is called Bharata-khaṇḍa; சகுந்தலைக்கும் துஷ்யந்தனுக்கும் பிறந்தவனும் பரதகண்டம்என்று இந்தியா தேசத்துக்குப் பெயர்வழங்குதற்குக்காரணமானவனுமான ஓர் அரசன் 2. A youngerbrother of Rāma and son of Kaikēyi; இராமன்தம்பியருள் ஒருவனான கைகேயிமகன். 3. Theauthor of a treatise on the art of dancing andacting; பரதநூல் செய்தவர்.  

parataṉ   s. a younger brother of Rama; 2. Bharata, the son of Dushyanta and Sakuntalai after whom India is called பரதகண்டம், --வருஷம்; 3. the author of the science of dancing; 4. a king of the lunar race whose descendants are பரதர்.
