விரை

s. Seed of herbs and plants, விதை. 2. Testicles; also, semen virile, பிடுக்கு. (c.) 3. (சது.) Odor, fragrance, வாசனை. 4. Ground or powdered sandal, சாந்து.

விரை, 5, The five kinds of perfume: 1. கோட்டம், Costus Arabicus, a sweet smelling root: 2. துருக்கம் or கஸ்தூரி, musk; 3. தகரம், fragrant ointment for the hair; 4. அகில், Agallochum, a sweet scented wood; 5. சந்தனம், sandal wood.

விரைக்குவிட, inf. To let a fruit ripen for seed.

விரைபோட, inf. To dibble seeds.

விரைப்பாடு, v. noun. The sowing of a field. இந்தப்பூமிபத்துக்கோட்டைவிரைப்பாடுள்ளது.... Ten கோட்டை. are required for this field; see கோட்டை.

விரைமுந்திரிகை, s. [com. கொட்டை முந்திரிகை.] The cashew-tree.

விரையடிக்க, inf. To geld or castrate bulls, rams, &c., by compression.

விரையெடுக்க, inf. To gather seeds of plants. 2. See விரைவாங்க.

விரையொன்றுபோட, inf. To plant seed of one kind.--For the proverb. see under சுரை.

விரைவீக்கம், s. Swelling of the testi cles.

கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. n. To hasten, to pass rapidly, தீவிரிக்க. 2. To long for, காதலிக்க. (Ell.) 3. To be im portunate, to be in earnest, intent upon, முயல. (p.) விரைந்துவந்தான். He came in haste.

விரைவு, v. noun. [com. விரசு.] Swiftness, celerity, despatch, வேகம்.

விரைதல், v. noun. Making haste. 2. Being warm by the heat of the sun. 3. Being eager.

க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To sow. 2. To propagate, to disseminate. See விதை.

விரைப்பு, v. noun. Sowing, as விதைப்பு.
