இயை

iyai   s. Junction, connection, union, இசைப்பு. (சது.) (p.)

கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. n. [The mere poetic form for இசை.] To join, unite, agree, be proper for, agreeable to &c., பொருந்த.

இயைய, inf. Used also as a term of comparison, உவமையுருபு.

இயைபு, v. noun. Union, agree ment, இசைவு. 2. Fitness, worthiness, &c., for undertaking the study of reli gion or of a literary work, பொருத்தம். 3. [in poetry.] Constructing verses in such a way that they shall end in any of the consonants, ஞ், ண், ந், ம், ன், ய், ர், ல், வ், ழ், ள்.--One of the வனப்பு, or beauties of comparison, செய்யுள்வனப்பினொன்று. 4. The rhyming of the last feet or letters in the lines, அடிகளினிறுதிாயெழுத்தேனுஞ்சொ ல்லேனுமொத்துவருவது. See தொடை. (p.)

இயைபின்மையணி, s. A figure in rhetoric--comparing a thing to itself- as பொதுநீங்குவமை.

இயைபுவண்ணம், s. Poetry in which the medial letters abound, ஓர்வண் ணம்.

இயைபுளன், s. A worthy person, புகழாளன்.

இயைவு, v. noun. Consent, agree ment, பொருத்தம். See இசைவு.
