ஒண்டி

oṇṭi   n. ஒன்று [T. K. oṇṭi.] 1.That which is single; தனிமையானது. இந்தமாடு ஒண்டி 2. [Tu. oṇṭige.] Solitary, singleperson; one who is all alone, without anycompanion; துணையில்லாதவன்-ள். ஒண்டியாய்த்தேர்விட்டு (இராமநா. யுத்த. 29).  

oṇṭi   n. prob. ஒன்று-. Spike thatfastens the pole to the plough; ஊற்றாணிஎன்னுங் கலப்பையுறுப்பு. (பிங்.)  

oṇṭi   s. that which is single, solitary; one who is solitary.

ஒண்டிக்காரன், ஒண்டியொருத்தன், a single, unmarried person.

ஒண்டியாயிருக்க, to live a single life, to be alone.
