கொடுக்கு

koṭukku   n. கொடு-மை. 1. [M.koṭukku.] Sting of a wasp, hornet, scorpion தேள் முதலியவற்றின் கொட்டும் உறுப்பு 2. Clawsof a crab, lobster; நண்டு முதலியவற்றின் இடுக்கிக்கால். Colloq. 3. Mischievous lad; துஷ்டப்பையன். 4. Ornamental hangings or ends of clothin wear; ஆடைமுதலியவற்றிற் கட்டிவிடுந் தொங்கல் கச்சைபுனைந்ததிலே விட்டான் பெருங்கொடுக்கு (திருவாலவா. 30, 9). 5. Cloth passed between thelegs and tucked up behind; மூலத்தாறு.

கொடுக்குக்கட்டிநில்-தல் [கொடுக்குக்கட்டிநிற்றல்] koṭukku-k-kaṭṭi-nil-, v. intr. கொடுக்கு¹ +. 1. To stand with a firm resolve;to be resolute or determined; விடாப்பிடியாயிருத்தல். 2. To be earnestly engaged, as in anenterprise; ஊக்கமாயிருத்தல்.  

koṭukku   s. the sting of a scorpion, wasp etc; 2. the claws of a crab etc; 3. the cloth passed between the legs and tucked up behind, கோவணம்; 4. a mischievous lad; 5. (Tel.) a son.

கொடுக்குக் கட்டி நிற்க, to stand with a firm resolve; to be earnestly engaged in.

கொடுக்கால் போட, to sting.

கொடுக்குப் பிடிக்க, to act as a person's satellite or underling.
