c   A syllabic letter from ச் and அ. It is sometimes changed into ய as more ele gant,--thus முசல் to முயல், &c.

c   As a prefix in words of Sanskrit origin denotes. 1. Addition--as in சமு லம். 2. Sameness, identity--as in சக லன். 3. Superiority, excellence--as in சவினயம். 4. Intensity--as in சானந் தம், &c. It supplies the place of the following eight Sanscrit letters: , , , , , ஷ, ஸ, க்ஷ.
