தாம்

tām   (pl. of தான்.) They, themselves. 2. [in usage the 2d. per. sing. honorific.] You, your honor, &c., முன்னிலைச்சொல். 3. A சாரியை or emphatic particle suffixed to plural pronouns of any person, as அவர் தாம்வந்தார், he came. 4. An அசைநிலை, ex pletive, வருவர்தாம், they will come, they will indeed come. 5. One of the syllable sung to tunes instead of words. (See தா ளம், and சுரம்.)--Note. As a சாரியை, it is an affix to nouns, and, in the oblique cases, it takes the change of case instead of the noun.
