அண்ணா

aṇṇā   n. id. 1. Elder brother;அண்ணன். Colloq. 2. Father; தகப்பன் Brāh.  

aṇṇā   n. id. + நா Uvula; உண்ணாக்கு அண்ணா வுரிஞ்சி மூக்குயர்த்தார் (சீவக. 2703).  

aṇṇā   n. அண்ணா-. cf. aruṇa.Tiruvaṇṇāmalai, a Šiva shrine; திருவண்ணாமலை (தேவா. 756, 1.)  

aṇṇā   VII. (& அண்ணாரு II) v. i. look upward; 2. open the mouth; 3. hold the head erect.

வானத்தை அண்ணாந்து பார்க்க, to look up to heaven.

 

aṇṇā   அண்ணாக்கு, s. see under அண்ணம்.

அண்ணாக்கு வளர்ந்தது, the uvula is elongated; the uvula hangs loose.

அண்ணாக்குத் தொண்டையால் விழுங்கு, swallow (a medicine) without tasting.
