குதம்பை

kutampai   n. perh. குதம்பு-. 1.Roll of palmyra leaves or cloth worn in the ear-lobe to widen the perforation; காதுபெருக்குவதற்காக இடும் ஓலை சீலை முதலியவற்றின் சுருள் சீலைக்குதம்பை யொருகாது (திவ். பெரியாழ். 3, 3, 1). 2. Akind of ear-ring; காதணிவகை. திருக்குதம்பையொன்று பொன் இருகழஞ்சே எட்டுமஞ்சாடி (S.I.I.ii, 143).

kutampai   s. an earthen ear-ring worn to widden the aperture.

குதம்பையிட்டு (போட்டு) வளர்க்க, to put earthen rings in the ear-laps to widen the perforation.
