தக்கார்

takkār   n. தகு-. [T. tagunavāru, K.takkavāru.] 1. Worthy, virtuous persons, thenoble; மேன்மக்கள் தக்கா ரினத்தனாய் (குறள்,446). 2. Impartial, upright persons; நடுவுநிலையுடையார். தக்கார் தகவில ரென்பது (குறள், 114).Relations; உறவினர். (W.)

  A person who is a scholar in a particular field. The word doctor(PhD) originated from this.
