நெல்லி

s. A class of trees the fruit of which is used for pickles and in medi cine. See ஆமலகம்-Of நெல்லி, there are அருநெல்லி, சிறுநெல்லி, a species of நெல்லி, yielding a sour fruit; கருநெல்லி, the black நெல்லி, the fruit of which is transparent, often used as a figure for the perfect know ledge of a thing; also for the sperm of woman; பெருநெல்லி, a medicinal tree the wood of which improves brackish water; கீழரிநெல்லி, a plant, Phyllanthus simplex; கீழ்காய்நெல்லி, an herb, see கீழ்; நிலநெல்லி, a plant, Phyllanthus Madraspatan. உள்ளங்கைநெல்லிக்கனிபோலே. As clear as the நெல்லி fruit in your hand.

நெல்லிக்காயூறுகாய், s. Pickled fruit of the பெருநெல்லி.

நெல்லிக்காய்க்கந்தகம், s. Brimstone in pieces like the நெல்லி. See கந்தகம்.

நெல்லிக்காய்த்துவையல், s. A season ing of the fruit of the பெருநெல்லி, mashed in a mortar, and dried, used for food.

நெல்லிக்காய்த்தைலம், s. Oil boiled with the நெல்லி fruit, as a cooling oint ment for the head.

நெல்லிக்காய்மணி--நெல்லிக்காய்க்குண் டு, s. Gold beads in the form of the நெல்லி fruit.

நெல்லிப்பருப்பு, s. The kernel of the பெருநெல்லி fruit. It is dried and used in medicine; or soaked in cow's milk, is rubbed on the head, as a refrigerative before bathing.

நெல்லிப்பூ, s. Flowers of the நெல்லி, forming a drug.

நெல்லிமுளி, s. Fruit of the பெருநெ ல்லி dried, used in medicine.
