தவிர்

--தவிரு, கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், தவிர, v. n. and v. a. To abstain, refrain from, நீங்க. 2. To shun, avoid, decline, re nounce, அகல. 3. To be omitted, excepted, dispensed with, கழிய. 4. To leave, forsake, relinguish, விலக. 5. To cease, to become extinct, ஒழிய. 6. To be hindered, pre vented, impeded, frustrated, தடைபட. 7. To subside, abate, தணிய. 8. To desist, forbear, omit, discontinue, விட.

பாவத்தைத்தவிர்க்க, inf. To abstain from vice.

தவிர, inf. Except, unless, but, be sides, exclusive of, நீங்க. ஒன்றுதவிரஎல்லாங்கொண்டுவா. Bring all but one. அதுதவிர--அதைத்தவிர. Except that. அதுவுந்தவிர. Besides that, moreover, futhermore.

தவிராக்கவலை, s. Unceasing anxiety, sorrow.

தவிர்வு, v. noun. Abstaining from, shunning, avoiding, நீங்குதல்,. 2. Excep tion, omission, exemption, விலக்குகை. 3. Relinquishment, விடல். 4. Cessation, ஒழிதல். 5. Excluding, secluding, dis pelling, removing, அகற்றல். (p.)

க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To put away, remove, dispel, to chase away, to expel, to exclude, நீக்க. 2. To clear off, to discontinue, விட்டுவிட. 3. To check, hinder, interrupt, prevent, frus trate, தடைசெய்ய. 4. To bring to an end, to terminate, முடிக்க. 5. To remit, liqui date, கடன்தீர்க்க. 6. To omit, to dispense with, to free from, கழிக்க. (c.) செய்காரியந்தவிர்காரியம்அறியவேண்டும். It is necessary to know what should be done, and what left undone. குறும்பைத்தவிர்க்குங்குடிதாங்கி. They king, who can put an end to one's poverty. சாப்பாட்டைத்தவிர்க்க, inf. To omit a meal.
