நிமிர்

nimirttu-   5 v. tr. Caus. ofநிமிர்-. [K. nimirccu.] 1. To straighten up, setupright, as a pot; நேர்நிற்கச் செய்தல் 2. Tounfold, uncoil, as an ola; வளைவு நீக்குதல் மண்மூடு தோட்டின் முடங்க னிமிர்த்து (கம்பரா. பள்ளி 6). 3. To improve, as one's circumstances;சீர்ப்படுத்துதல். உன்னை வளர்த்து நிமிர்த்தினவன்நானல்லவோ? (W.) 4. To thrash, beat severely;நன்றாய்ப் புடைத்தல் அவனை நன்றாய் நிமிர்த்திவெளியே அனுப்பு  

nimir   நிமிரு, II. v. i. rise, stand straight, become erect, உயரு; 2. grow, வளரு; 3. be close, thick or crowded, நெருங்கு; 4. be bold, decided, இறுமா; 5. (fig.) be proud, affected, arrogant.

வயிறு நிமிரப் பிடித்தான், he ate to the full.

நிமிர்ந்த ஆள், a grown person; 2. a bold or proud man.

நிமிர்ந்திருக்க, to raise or hold the head erect.

நிமிர்ந்து நடக்க, to walk erect.

நிமிர்ந்து நிற்க, to stand erect, to assert one's right with courage.

நிமிர்ந்துபார்க்க, to look with the head erect, to regard.
