நொடி

noṭi   n. நொடி²-. [M. noṭi.] 1.[T. noḍi.] Word, phrase, language, speech;சொல். புதல்வரை மருட்டும் பொய்ந்நொடி பகரவும்(பெருங். உஞ்சைக். 33, 72). (சூடா.) 2. Wisesayings; முதுமொழி பிசியுநொடியும் (பெருங்.உஞ்சைக். 33, 175). 3. Riddle, enigma; பிதிர் (சூடா.) 4. Stanza; செய்யுள் சடகோப னொடியாயிரத் திப்பத்தும் (திவ். திருவாய். 10, 5, 11). 5.Noise; ஓசை அமைக்கண் விடுநொடி (அகநா. 47).6. Crack or snap, as of the thumb and themiddle finger; கையின் இரண்டுவிரல்களைத்தெறித்து உண்டாக்கும் ஒலி 7. Instant, as thetime-measure of the snap of the finger; கைவிரலைநொடிக்குங் காலநுட்பம் கண்ணிமை நொடியென வவ்வே மாத்திரை (தொல். எழுத். 7). 8.Ruggedness of road, rut; வண்டிப்பாதையிலுள்ளகுழிப்பள்ளம். பாதை நொடியாயிருக்கிறது. 9. Ailment; நோய்த்துன்பம். நோய்நொடியின்றி வாழவேண்டும்.

நொடிக்கிறுதுக்காரன், a bold and haughty fellow.

நொடிக்கிறுது பேச, நொடிக்கிறுதாயி ருக்க, to speak contemptibly, to be haughty.

நொடிசொல்ல, நொடிக்கதைசொல்ல, to propose riddles.

நொடிநொடிக்க, to snap.

நொடிப்பொழுது, a snap or second of time.

நொடியளவில்், நொடிக்குள்ளே, in a moment.

நொடிவிட, -அவிழ்க்க, to solve a riddle.

noṭi   VI. v. i. snap the thumb and நையாயிகம் , s. (நியாயம்), a religious system contained in the Nyaya philosophy, ஓர் மதம்.
