இல்லடைகொடுத்தல், v. noun. En trusting a thing to the custody of another.
இல்லடைக்கலம், s. The act of depositing, taking refuge in a house, வீட்டிலடைக்கலமாகவைக்கை. 2. A refugee, அடைக்கலமடைந்தவன். 3. [prov.] A de posit, பண்டகசாலை.
இல்லவன்--இல்லான்--இல்லோ ன், s. (fem. இல்லவள்--இல்லாள்.) A hus band, கணவன். 2. The head of a house, தலைவன். (p.)
இல்லறம், s. Domestic life, do mesticity. 2. Duties of the householder. 3. Conjugal virtues and deeds of hospi tality performed by the householder. 4. The state and rules of domestic order --as distinguished from the other three conditions of man, viz.: 1. The bachelor or student. 2. The anchorite. 3. The mendicant. இல்லாச்சிரமம், s. The second of the four orders. See ஆச்சிரமம்.
இல்லாண்முல்லை, s. [in love poetry.] The lament of a warrior's mistress on account of his absence in the camp, புறப் பொருட்டறையுளொன்று. (p.)
இல்லிடம், s. Dwelling, abode, வீடு. 2. Breadth, அகலம்.
இல்லுனர், s. Friends, மேவினர். (p.)
இல்லொழுக்கம், s. The practice of the household duties, or the duties of the householder. 2. The state of the second order or householder. See ஆச் சிரமம்.
இல்வாழ்க்கை, s. Domestic life, household enjoyment, மனைவாழ்க்கை. 2. The practice of the duties of the house holder, or second order. See ஆச்சிரமம்.
இல்வாழ்பேய், s. A wife who neg lects domestic duties, துஷ்டமனைவி.
இல்வாழ்வான், s. A man who practises the duties of the second order --the householder. See ஆச்சிரமம்.
இல்வாழ்வு, s. Household life, do mestic felicity, மனைவாழ்க்கை. 2. The practice of the household duties. See ஆச்சிரமம்.
இற்செறித்தல்--இற்செறிப்பு--இற் செறிவுறுத்தல், v. noun. [in love poetry.] Confining a young woman at home, not suffering her to frequent the corn-field as before, அகப்பொருட்டுறையிலொன்று. (p.)
இற்பிறப்பு, s. Descent from a good family, noble extraction, illustri ous birth, குடிப்பிறப்பு. (p.)

. Not, non-existence, death, மரணம். (p.) 2. The root of one of the negative symbolic verbs, (see அல்) ex pressive of total or exclusive negation of the thing or quality--the opposite of உள். Sometimes in poetry it stands as a con traction of இல்லை. இற்றிறம்பிலர். They fail not in the per formance of domestic duties; [ex இல், house; திறம்பு, failure; இலர், who are not.] இணையில்நெஞ்சமே. O! incomparable mind; O! mind debased beyond compari son. இலி, s. A person, or thing pos sessed of nothing.
பிறப்பிலி, s. He who is without birth--the Supreme Being, கடவுள். 2. Siva, சிவன். (p.)
இறையிலி, s. He who is exempt from taxes; [ex இறை, tribute; இல், not; இ, affix.] இந்தநிலமிறையிலி. This field is not tax ed.
இல்பொருள், s. An impossibility, an absurdity, இல்லாதபொருள்.
இல்பொருளுவமம்--இல்லுவமை, s. [in rhetoric.] Comparison with a thing that does not exist, உவமையணியி லொன்று--as எல்லாக்கமலத்தொழிலுந்திரண்டொ ன்றின் வில்லேர்புருவத்துவேனெடுங்கணல்லாண் முகம்போலும், the beauty of the face of the damsel whose eyes resemble a lance, and brow, a bow, is equal to the aggre gate beauty of all lotuses.
இல்லாதபொய், s. Downright lie, முழுப்பொய்.
இல்லாதவன், neg. appel. noun. One utterly destitute.
இல்லாததும்பொல்லாதுஞ்சொல்ல, inf. To tell lies and speak evil of one.
இல்லாமல், ver. part. Without. இல்லாமற்போனால், If not, otherwise.
இல்லாமலிருக்க, inf. To be with out, be wanting, be absent.
இல்லாமை, neg. v. noun. Absence, destitution, privation, இன்மை. 2. Pover ty, want, தரித்திரம்.
இல்லார்--இல்லோர், s. The poor, the destitute, those who are in want, தரித்திரர்.
இல்லெனல், v. noun. Death, ex tinction, சாதல். 2. Denying, இல்லையென் றசொல்லல்.
இல்லை, s. Negation, இன்மை. 2. A defective verb implying absolute ne gation, added to nouns, pronouns, verbs or participles. 3. Death, extinction of life, சாதல். இல்லையாகியவென்மகற்காண்பன். I shall see my deceased son. இல்லையாகில்--இல்லையென்கில்--இல்லையெ ன்றால். If not, or else, otherwise. வருகிறையோ இல்லையோ? Will you come or not? ஒருக்காலுமில்லை. Never. இதுவுமில்லை--அதுவுமில்லை--இரண்டுமில்லை. Neither this nor that, neither of the two. ஒற்றுமில்லை. Nothing. துப்புறவில்லை--பரிச்சேதமில்லை. Not at all. அளவில்லை. Beyond measure, immeas urable. இன்னதென்றில்லை. It is not described what it is, no matter what. இவ்வளவென்றில்லை. It is unascertain ed, not estimated, not measured.
இல்வழக்கு, s. Unjust lawsuit, பொய்வழக்கு.
எண்ணில்காலம், s. Incalculable time.
அருளிலார், s. Those devoid of benevolence.
இன்றி, v. part. from the root இல். Without. தாமதமின்றி. Without delay. ஒருபிரயாசமுமின்றி. Without labor, or difficulty. பாவமின்றிநடக்கிறது அரிது. It is difficult to live without sinning.

. A form of the fifth case, (see இன்), ஐந்தனுருபு, which denotes. 1. Re moval, withdrawal, நீங்கல். (a) Literally --as தமரிற்றீர்ந்தான், he has left his rela tions, i. e. for ascetic life. (b) (fig.) In which it expresses speciality, disparity, &c., and includes the comparative degree --as அரசரிற்பெரியரந்தணர், the Brahman caste is superior to the royal. 2. Simili tude, ஒப்பு--as திறல்வேனுதியிற்பூத்தகேணி. A tank whose flowers resemble the points of mighty lances. 3. The bearing of a place, எல்லை--as கருவூரில்வடக்கு, north of Caroor.--Note. This form of the fifth case is peculiar to the poetic dialect. 4. The primitive cause, ஏது--as பொன்னிற் செய்தமுடி, a crown made of gold.
