s. Rice in the hull, paddy, நென் மணி. 2. A name of Arundhati who is re garded as a pattern of female excellence, supposed to have become one of the stars in Ursa Major, அருந்ததி. 3. W. p. 84. SALI. The rice plant, நெல். 4. (pro bably a corruption of San. Tâlâ.) W. p. 375. Vinous spirit, toddy, கள்; [ex தாலம், pal myra or palm tree.] 5. [a contraction of சாலிகை.] A coat of mail, கவசம். (சது.) 6. W. p. 84. S'ALIN. A personal termina tion, masculine or feminine, implying poss ession--as பாக்கியசாலி, பத்திசாலி, புத்திசாலி, குணசாலி, &c., which see, வடமொழியிறுதி. (p.) சாலிநெல்லுந் தன்னுமியுள்ளது. The best paddy is not without its husk, i. e. every one has his faults.
