பசை

s. Stickiness, tenacity, ropiness, adhesiveness, பற்று. 2. Glue, paste, cement, பிசின். (Tel. பஸ.) 3. Moisture, sap, juice of meat. ஈரம். 4. Animal or vegeta ble bodies; glutinous substance in fruits, roots, &c., சாரம். 5. Love, affection, com passion, அன்பு. 6. [with இரத்தம்.] Boldness, sanguineness, கொழுப்பு. 7. (சது.) Gain, profit, lucre, property, இலாபம். 8. Desire, விருப்பம். 9. Boiled rice, and other ingre dients, applied to a drum-head to improve the sound, முழுவின்மார்ச்சனை. (c.) அதிலேபசையில்லை. There is no hope in the case, we shall be disappointed; There is no hope of his recovery. உடம்பிலே பசையில்லை. He is greatly emaciated. அவர்முகத்திலேரத்தப்பசையில்லை. His coun tenance is gloomy, he looks dejected.

பசைபூசுதல், v. noun. Putting பசை on the right side of a drum.

பசையடி, s. [prov.] The first washing of a new cloth, without starching.

பசையற்றவன், appel. n. A person without kindness, or compassion, அன் பில்லாதவன். 2. One impoverished. See பசுமையுள்ளவன். 3. A man destitute of property, வறியவன்.

பசையாயிருக்க, inf. To be glutinous. 2. To be advantageous, profitable, lu crative, for one's interest. 3. To be kind, affectionate, compassionate.

பசையொட்டுதல், v. noun. Gluing or pasting any thing.

கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. n. To be compassionate, kind, affectionate, அன்பு கொள்ள. 2. To be liberal, beneficent, be nevolent, சாரமுள்ளதாக. 3. [prov.] To be come glutinous, viscous, tempered--as clay, &c., இளகு. 4. v. a. To temper clay so as to make it viscous--as done by pot ters, white-ants, or hornets; kneading dough, பிசைய. 5. To fill cracks in iron by beating, ஒட்ட.

பசைந்தார், appel. n. [pl.] Friends, சினேகிதர். (சது.)

பசைமட்டை, s. [prov.] A piece of palmyra stalk used by blacksmiths in tempering the heat of fire the by water, இரும்பைப் பசையுமட்டை.

பசைவு, v. noun. Compassion, kind ness, affection, attachment, அன்பு.
