பச்சை

adj. Green, tender, young, un ripe, raw, cool; intense; [ex பசுமை.]

பச்சைக்கயர்-பச்சைக்கைப்பு, s. [prov.] Extremely astringent, exceedingly bit ter.

பச்சைக்கருப்பூரம், s. A greenish kind of drug. See கருப்பூரம்.

பச்சைக்கல், s. Unburnt brick, சுடாத செங்கல். 2. See கல்.

பச்சைக்கள்ளன், s. [prov.] A despe rate thief, cheat, rogue; a villain.

பச்சைக்காய், s. Green fruit, fruit un ripe or uncooked.

பச்சைக்காய்ச்சி, appel. n. [prov.] A tree with green fruit.

பச்சைக்கிளி, s. Green parrot. 2. Green grasshopper.

பச்சைக்குங்கிலியம், s. Green resin.

பச்சைக்குழந்தை, s. A tender new born infant.

பச்சைக்கூடு, s. [prov.] The living body, ஸ்தூலதேகம். பச்சைக்கூட்டோடேகயிலாயஞ்சேர்வாய். You will attain kylaya, the lowest leaven (of Siva.) alive, with vigorous health.

பச்சைக்கொல்லன், s. [prov, in burles.] A clumsy blacksmith; i. e. beating cold iron.

பச்சைச்சடையன், appel. n. An epithet of B'hairave, a form of Siva.

பச்சைத்தடி, s. Green sticks, used in making a bier. விறைத்துப்பச்சைத்தடியாய்ப்போயிற்று. He is grown cold and stiff as a stick; said of one in a fit, &c.

பச்சைத்தண்ணீர், s. Cold water, un boiled water.

பச்சைத்தாள், s. Green stalks, show ing immaturity in the corn.

பச்சைத்தோல், s. A raw, untanned skin, a felt. 2. New skin formed on a healing sore.

பச்சைநஞ்சு, s. Strong poison. 2. [prov.] An atrocious villain, தீயன்.

பச்சைநாடன்பழம், s. A kind of plan tain with greenish streaks (Beschi.)

பச்சைநாபி, s. A strong, vegetable poison. See வச்சநாபி under நாபி.

பச்சைபழுக்காஅடைத்தல், v. noun. Painting green and yellow.

பச்சைபசேரெனல், v. noun. Being very green, all green, verdant, flourish ing, மிகுபசுமையாயிருத்தல். மரகதம்பச்சைப்பசேரென்றிருக்கிறது.....The emerald is very green. தோட்டம்பச்சைப்பசேரென்றிருக்கிறது. The garden is all verdant.

பச்சைப்பட்டி, s. [prov.] Raw or undried manure, put on land shortly before sowing, எரு.

பச்சைப்பதம், s. Immaturity of grain, &c. 2. The state of not being well boiled.

பச்சைப்பயறு, s. A kind of pulse for taking the oil from the head.

பச்சைப்பாக்கு, s. Unripe or undried areca-nut.

பச்சைப்பாம்பு, s. A kind of green snake.

பச்சைப்பாலகன்--பச்சைப்பாலன்- பச்சைப்பிள்ளை. s. A new-born infant.

பச்சைப்பால், s. Raw milk.

பச்சைப்பானை, s. An earthen pot not burnt.

பச்சைப்பிள்ளைத்தாய்ச்சி, s. A woman immediately after child-birth.

பச்சைப்புண், s. A raw sore. 2. Sore as the body through pain, hard labor in child-birth, &c. சரீரமெல்லாம்பச்சைப்புண். My body is sore all over.

பச்சைப்புல், s. Green grass as plucked for cattle.

பச்சைப்புழு, s. Green caterpillars, the palmer worm.

பச்சைப்புளுகன், s. A great boaster. 2. A notorious liar.

பச்சைப்புளி, s. Exceeding sourness.

பச்சைப்புறா, s. A green pigeon, or dove.

பச்சைப்பெருமாள், s. A kind of paddy that comes to perfection in three months, ஓர்நெல். 2. Vishnu, விஷ்ணு.

பச்சைப்பொட்டு, s. A green spot on the forehead, made with a needle and colouring matter. 2. A green spot on the forehead, to which medical pro perties are ascribed. 3. [fig prov.]A false show; pretension to wealth, learn ing, piety, &c., பகட்டு.

பச்சைப்பொய், s. A downright lie.

பச்சைமண், s. Most earth. 2. Tem pered clay, as in unburnt pots-opps. to சுட்டமண். See ஒட்டு, (c.)

பச்சைமரம், s. A green or living tree. 2. Unseasoned timber. பச்சைமரம்படப்பார்ப்பான். His look would blight even a green tree.

பச்சைமா, s. Flour not well prepared for paste, &c. 2. Raw dough, paste.

பச்சையிரும்பு, s. Mere iron. 2. Un tempered iron. 3. Cold iron.

பச்சையீரம், s. Great dampness, as of soiled clothes, &c., அதிகாரம்.

பச்சையுடம்பு--பச்சையுடல், s. The tender body of an infant, or a woman after-child birth, மெல்லியஉடல். 2. The body of a person recovering from small pox or other disease that fills it with raw sores, புண்ணானஉடல்.

பச்சையுப்பு, s. Unmixed salt.

பச்சையெண்ணெய், s. Oil not heat....

பச்சைவன்னம், s. Green color, green paint.

பச்சைவிறகு, s. Green or undried fire wood.

பச்சைகட்டு, s. [prov.] A trifling present of fruits, commonly to a head man, பரிதானங்கொடுக்கை. 2. (fig.) A mitigative medicine, a lenitive, சாந்திம ருந்து. 3. A mitigation, temporary relief.

பச்சைகுத்துதல், v. noun. Making marks on the body with a needle and green coloring matter. See. குத்து, v.

பச்சைகொடுத்தல், v. noun. Sending a present of fruits to a wedding house, &c.

பச்சைபாடி, s. [prov.] A present of vegetables, as பச்சை.

பச்சைபிடித்தல், v. noun. [prov.] Seiz ing on some of the fruits brought to a wedding house--as thr barber, washer man, &c.

பச்சைப்படிகொடுத்தல், v. noun. [prov.] Giving raw fruits as presents to Brah mans, pandarams, &c.

பச்சையனுப்புதல், v. noun. [prov.] Sending presents, of vegetables, fruits, rice, &c., to a new married pair, &c.
