ptmai   s. Softness, tenderness, mel lowness--as of ripe fruits or well boiled food, மிருது. 2. Slowness, inertness, in activity, அமைதி. 3. Lowness or softness of voice, &c., மெல்லோசை. 4. Weakness, gentleness, suavity, tractableness, mild ness, placidity, மெத்தெனவு. 5. Pliancy, smoothness, suppleness, blandness, இணக் கம். 6. Submission, resignation, தாழ்மை- In most of the meanings it is limited to jaffna. பதமையானஓலை. Pliant, tender olas fit for matting, &c. பதமையானகடுதாசி. Smooth paper. பதமையானகுணம். Mild or meek disposi tion. பதமையானவன். A mild, considerate man. 2. A man rather slow. பதமையாகக்காரியம்பார்க்கிறவன். He is one who attends to a thing deliberately.
