கண்டி

s. Kandy, a city of Ceylon, its ancient capital, இலங்காபுரி. 2. [prov.] A kind of hurdle whether temporary or portable used by fishermen for catching fish in shallow waters, or the enclosure thus formed, மீன்பிடிக்கவடைக்குங்கருவி. 3. A necklace, கழுத்தணியிலொன்று. 4. A dry measure, twenty parahs, இருபதுபறை. 5. A weight of five-hundred pounds, being twenty-eight துலாம், or two-thousand பலம். கண்டில்.

கண்டியடைத்தல், v. noun. Form ing an enclosure for fishing.

க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To reprove, reprehend, chide, speak with severity, admonish, expostu late, censure, கடிய. 2. To speak with deci sion, precision, earnestness, impartiality, பாரபட்சமின்றிப்பேச. 3. To cut in pieces, chop, mince, slash, துண்டிக்க. 4. To sever, sunder, hew down, வெட்ட. 5. To divide, parcel, பகிர. 6. To correct, chastise, dis cipline, punish a child, &c., to bring to a proper state by discipline, தண்டிக்க.

கண்டித்துக்கண்டித்துச்சொல்ல, inf. To particularize.

கண்டித்துக்கேட்க, inf. To ask with earnestness, reproof, threats, &c.

கண்டித்துச்சொல்ல, inf. To speak harshly, to command with severity, to reprove, insist on. 2. To speak plainly, impartially, exactly, pointedly, with precision, positively.

கண்டிதம், v. noun. Reproof, re buke, கண்டிப்பு. 2. Chastisement, cor rection, discipline, punishment, தண்டனை. 3. Strictness, rigor, severity, austerity, திட்டம். 4. Accuracy, exactness, partic ularity, precision, செவ்வை. 5. Certain ty, assurance, உறுதி. 6. Cutting, sun dering, துண்டிக்கை.

கண்டிதக்காரன், s. A rigorous man.

கண்டிதம்பண்ண, inf. To act rig orously. 2. To correct, chastise.

கரார்கண்டிதமாகச்சொல்ல, inf. To say decisively.

கண்டித்தல், v. noun. The act of cut ting in pieces. 2. The act of hewing, வெட்டல். 3. The act of chastising.

கண்டிப்பு, v. noun. Strictness, se verity, rigor, கண்டிதம். 2. Exactness, accuracy, precision, திட்டம். 3. Earnest ness, plainness, decisiveness, urging, stress, positiveness, உறுதி. 4. Reproof, reprehension, strictness, கடிந்திடுகை. 5. Materiality. corporeality, palpableness, சடத்தன்மை. (தீ. 515.) 6. Cutting, sunder ing, hewing, வெட்டுகை. 7. Chastise ment, correction, castigation, தண்டிப்பு.

கண்டிப்பாகச்சொல்ல, inf. To speak plainly, to tell the naked truth. 2. To speak pointedly, expressly, harsh ly. 3. To speak so as to wound the feelings.

கண்டிப்புப்பண்ண, inf. To treat with strictness, severity, &c.

கண்டிப்புள்ளசரீரம், s. A material body.

கண்டிப்புள்ளவன், s. A strict man, one systematic, orderly, punctual.
