தாரை

s. Row, range, line, series, stripe, streak, ஒழுங்கு. (Compare சாரை.) 2. A long trumpet or pipe, எக்காளம். 3. A smaller trumpet, சிறுசின்னம். 4. Way, road, வழி. 5. Heavy rain falling in large drops, மழைத்தாரை. (c.) 6. Stream of water poured on the right hand of the receiver in making grants or donations, also in giving a wife in marriage, &c. (See தத்தம்.) 7. Flowing as water from a pipe and in pencils, as gum from a tree, or as rain; also a course, as the flowing of arrows. the running of a horse or of a stream, பாய்கை. (Sa. D'ha'ra'.) 8. Apple, or pupil of the eye, கண்மணி. (See தாரகை.) 9. Eye, கண். 1. Point, edge; sharp or cutting side of an army, the banner-detachment. கொடிப்படை. 12. The wheel-like weapon, சக் கராயுதம். 13. Tongue, நா. 14. Running in a straight course, நேரோடுகை. 15. Star, விண்மீன். 16. Strength, vigor, force, power, வலி. 17. A wife, மனைவி. (See தாரம்.) 18. Wife of Bhali, வாலியின்மனைவி. 19. Wife of Jupiter, priest of the gods, வியாழன்மனை வி. (See தாரா. Sa.) 2. Cloth, சீலை. (சது.) தாரைதாரையாய்ப்போகிறஎறும்பு. The emmets going in rows. வானத்தில்நீர்த்தாரையிட்டிருக்கிறது. There are in the sky clouds surcharged with rain.

தாரைகவணி, s. A very fine kind of striped muslin. (R.)

தாரைதாரையாய்மழைபெய்ய, inf. To rain in torrents, to stream down.

தாரைதாரையாயோட, inf. To run or gush out in a straight stream.

தாரைப்பட்டு, s. Striped silk.

தாரையூத, inf. To blow a trumpet.

தாரைவார்த்தல், v. noun. Pouring water by a donor, on the right hand of the donee, in making a grant. &c. 2. (fig.) To lose a thing (spoken in grief) (c.)

தாரைவார்த்துக்கொடுக்க, inf. To give irrecoverably by pouring water into the hand of the person receiving the gift.

தாரைவீச, inf. To cast streams of light, to radiate, ஒளிகால. (p.)

கண்ணீர்த்தாரை, s. A flood of tears.
