நயம்

s. Cheapness, மலிவு. 2. Good ness, excellence, நன்மை. 3. Pleasure, grati fication, delight, இன்பம். 4. Benefit, profit, advantage, gain, பயன். 5. Superiority, மேன்மை. 6. Preference in the touch of one kind of gold, or silver, over another, மாற்றுநயம். 7. Civility, attention, courte ousness, உபசரிப்பு. 8. Propriety, decorum, deceney, rectitude, equity, நீதி. 9. At tractiveness, இதம். 1. Abundance, மிகுதி. --Two excellencies or நயம் are requisite in a lecture or in a writing, as சொன்னயம், pleasingness of speech or words, and பொரு ணயம், excellence of meaning. இயங்கிளியைப்போலேநயமாகப்பேசுகிறாள். She speaks as delicately as a young parrot.

நயங்காட்ட, inf. To coax.

நயநஷ்டம், s. Gain and loss, advan tage and disadvantage.

நயபயம், s. Kindness, blended with reproof.

நயப்பாடு, v. noun. Advantage, profit, benefit, பலன். 2. Superiority, excellence, மேம்பாடு. (p.)

நயமாக, inf. To become cheap.

நயம்பண்ண, inf. To do a favor.

நயமாய்வாங்க, inf. To buy cheap.

நயமும்பயமுமாய், With alluring and threats.

நயம்பாட, inf. To sing sweetly.

நயம்பேச, inf. To speak pleasantly, courteously; also used for the sound of the strings of a guitar, &c.
