நெற்றி

s. Forehead, front, brow, நுதல்; vulgarly, நெத்தி. 2. End or extremity of a board, a timber, &c., தண்டிகையின்தலைப்பு. 3. The upright, front, or prominent part of a building, a fort, &c.; a gable, வீட்டின்மு கடு, (c.) 4. Front of an army, முன்னணி. 5. Brow of a hill, மலையுச்சி. 6. Upper part of the stem of a tree, where it branches off, மரத்தினுளி. 7. Rank or file of an army, படைவகுப்பு.

நெற்றிக்கண்-நுதற்கண், s. Frontal eye, as of Siva.

நெற்றிக்கண்ணன், appel. n. Siva, சிவன்.

நெற்றிக்குநேரே. Over against one, fronting one.

நெற்றிக்கை, s. As நெற்றிமுட்டு, 2.

நெற்றிச்சுட்டி, s. An ornament for the forehead of a female or a child. 2. As சுட்டி, which see.

நெற்றிச்சுழி, s. A kind of curve on the forehead.

நெற்றித்திலகம்--நெற்றிப்போட்டு, s. A spot of sandal, &c., on the forehead. See திலகம்.

நெற்றிப்பட்டம், s. A plate for a man's forehead, as a badge of distinction. See பட்டம்.

நெற்றிமாலை, s. A chain, or garland for the forehead.

நெற்றிமுட்டு, s. A short and direct course, or way, across, சரிநேர். 2. A slanting timber in a bungalow roof, as எதிர்கைமரம். 3. The end of a board, &c., lower end of a rafter, கைமரத்தினடி. 4. Sudden meeting of one at a corner, முட் டுச்சந்து.
