பட்டடை

s. A stock, heap; pile of straw, firewood or timber, குவியல். 2. The anvil of a black-smith, gold-smith, &c., அடைகல். 3. A black-smith's or other vise, அடைகுறடு. 4. A mechanic's shop with its various implements, கம்மியர்கராக சாலையும், கருவியும். 5. Any thing held against another, as a support in driving a nail, தாங்குகருவி. 6. A corn-rick, or enclosure of straw, &c., for grain, தானியஉறை. 7. A layer or bed of olas, to place things on, தானியப்படுக்கை. 8. A frame of timbers to place under a dhoney when ashore, to keep it from the ground, தோணிதாங்கி. 9. A support for the head, in place of a pillow, தலைதாங்கி. 1. A support, or prop to keep a thing from falling or moving, தாபரம். 11. An ornament for the neck, கழுத்தணி. 12. A piece of board temporarily used as a seat, தாங்குபலகை. பட்டடைவாய்த்தால்பணிவாய்க்கும். If the anvil be obtained, the work will be done.

பட்டடைகட்ட, inf. To store up grain in an enclosure of straw. 2. To set a prop or support. 3. To erect a work shop. 4. To steal.

பட்டடைகாக்க, inf. To watch the corn stack.

பட்டடைக்கழனி, s. A cultivated field.

பட்டடைக்குத்தண்ணீர் இறைக்க, inf. To raise water for irrigation.

பட்டடைமணை, s. A work-bench.

பட்டடையார், s. [hon.] The master of a shop. 2. An overseer.

பலபட்டடை, s. [com. பலபட்டறை.] The residence of people of several tribes. See சாதி.
